Ever since its inception, our Hindi film industry has seen a number of patriotic films that show us the war stories of bravery and guts of Indian soldiers except one, that changed the
Perception of patriotism in our country. Shah Rukh Khan starrer Swades, which released on December 17, 2004, was one such film that told us one does not have to be a soldier to do something for the country but could contribute whatever they could as a common citizen. The film, when released, underperformed at the box office, however, it became a cult classic and gained greater appreciation over the years.
Helmed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Swades, that has given Shah Rukh recognition as an actor, completes 13 years today and it is a nothing less than a nostalgic trip for both actor and the filmmaker. Remembering 13 years of Swades, Ashutosh Gowariker, took to his Twitter handle to share an interesting unknown fact about his film.
Ashutosh shared two unseen pictures from the sets of Swades, in one of the pictures we can see Aamir Khan in Mangal Pandey look and in another, Aamir is seen holding the clap. If you’re wondering why would Aamir pose with a clap in one of the pictures shared by Ashutosh, let me tell you that the film s first clap was given by the Secret Superstar actor, according to a report in an online portal.
Ashutosh tweeted, “Thank you for your immense LOVE and REMEMBERING #13YearsOfSwades. Here are a couple of really special UNRELEASED stillls from the Mahurat Day! @aamir_khan @iamsrk #SunitaGowariker (sic)” Meanwhile, Shah Rukh too, without fail, has been thanking Ashutosh for making him a part of such cult classic and the audience for showering so much love on a film like Swades.
