Xiaomi Redmi 5A units sold 1 million in 30 days.

Xiaomi announced the Redmi 5A as the Desh ka Smartphone in late November and the device went on sale on December 7 via Flipkart and Mi.com through the flash sale model.
Within 30 days of its release, Xiaomi Redmi 5A has achieved a milestone of 1 million units of sale in the country. The same was announced by the company's VP Manu Kumar Jain on his Twitter handle. The tweet "Thrilled to announce that we've sold 1+ Mn #Redmi5A in less than a month! Thank you, Mi Fans for showering us with your incredible love & support! The Xiaomi Redmi 5A was launched in two variants - one with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space and the other with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space priced at Rs. 5,999 and Rs. 6,999 respectively. Notably, the company is offering a discount of Rs. 1,000 on the base variant of the Redmi 5A for the first 5 million customers that takes the cost down of the device to Rs. 4,999. This smartphone has been launched in three color options - Gold, Dark Grey and Rose Gold.
efreshing on its specifications, the Redmi 5A boasts of a 5-inch HD 720p display and employs a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor paired with Adreno 308 graphics unit. While two variants of RAM and storage options exist, both support up to 128GB of expandable storage using a microSD card.
The Redmi 5A flaunts a 13MP primary camera at its rear accompanied by LED flash, PDAF and f/2.2 aperture. There are features such as HDR, panorama, burst and other shooting modes. Up front, there is a 5MP selfie camera with a wider f/2.0 aperture. The connectivity aspects on board the Desh ka Smartphone include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and a micro USB port.
A 3000mAh battery powers the Xiaomi Redmi 5A and is touted to provide up to eight days of standby time. Even during our review, we found the battery to last for a day without any issues. The device runs Android Nougat topped with the company's MIUI 9 out of the box.

Some of the leaks we have seen show a device with bezels much thinner than what is on the  Redmi 5  and  Redmi 5 Plus . We have also seen photos that reveal a dual-camera setup on the rear with a fingerprint scanner beneath. Every Xiaomi fan is looking forward to the release of the Redmi Note 5.
